Playing Vinyl Backwards / Reverse

There are a few ways to do this. The most difficult way is to reverse it by hand while the motor is off, which is tough because your tempo can be thrown off easily.

Recommended:

  • Purchase a Reverse Kit for about $79.00 or...

  • Be like McGyver and do it for free:

    1. Take a roll of duct tape and set it directly in the middle of the platter.

    2. Set your record on the roll of tape. The track that you wish to play should be face down.

    3. Turn on the platter to make sure that the record is centered nicely and does not wobble or float. Might take some practice to get it perfectly centered.

    4. Remove your tone-arm cartridge. Re-mount it upside down so that the needle is pointing straight up.

    5. Adjust your counter weight all the way back in order to force the tone-arm to push upward.

    6. Place the tone-arm on the underside of the record and voila! Start it up!
