I figured I would post this here for anyone who might be interested in checking out our free mobile DJ industry podcast! ( I am the producer.)

ADJA Live @ DJ Expo 2007: Jim Robinson
Mike Fernino sits down with Jim Robinson, one of the pioneers from Promo Only. Mike and Jim discuss how Promo Only got started and where it has come in 15 years. Topics include the infamous Promo Only “Rock the Casbah” party, video, and the future of music delivery. Jim also talks about Promo Only’s relationship with Pioneer and the American Disc Jockey Association.
Jim Robinson started in the entertainment business at Walt Disney World where he did everything from being a Disney Character to pioneer digital audio at Disney Imagineering. After that, he started Electro-Magic production, a DJ company now based at Universal Studios Florida specializing in Music Video events. In 1992, he co-founded Promo Only and for the past 15 years Promo Only has been the industry standard for providing their services to record companies, radio stations, and DJ's. Literally, every major record label and major artist use Promo Only as a tool to get new releases of Music and Music Videos into the hands of the people that play them.

ADJA Live @ DJ Expo 2007: Justin O'Connor - QSC
Mike Fernino talks with Justin O’Connor from QSC in detail about their new HPR series of powered speakers and new & improved PLX 2 series of lightweight power amplifiers. Justin also gives some insight into the building a better speaker cabinet and why you should consider the QSC HPRs as your next powered speaker purchase!
Justin O'Connor - is currently the product manager for loudspeakers and amplifiers at QSC Audio, Inc. Overseeing the development and marketing of professional products for both the entertainment and installed sound markets from QSC's Costa Mesa, CA world headquarters, O'Connor has spent almost a decade in the pro audio industry, where he participated in wireless microphone systems development at Shure Inc. and led the creation of numerous installation loudspeakers while working at JBL Professional.
A musician as well, O'Connor admits that his love of music led him to choose a career in pro sound. "An appreciation of music has been a big part of my life," he says. "Helping to create quality audio products is my way of sharing that appreciation with others."
A graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, O'Connor holds a degree in Music Engineering Technology and Jazz Bass.

Mike Fernino sits down with the 2004 “DJ of the Year,” Marz Lawhorn. Mike and Marz cover alot in this jam-packed, emotional interview. They talk about having character and passion, performance, business, and “upping your game.” Marz also discusses the differences with the Midwest/Chicago market, where the industry is headed, taking part in the “Night of Champions,” and being crowned the 2004 “DJ of the Year.”

Gerry talks about the New Jersey market and his Golden Note and Golden Note Entertainment Extreme companies. They discuss establishing & cultivating relationships with facilities, the gift we have been given as DJs, and how you should embrace, but not hide behind new technology. They also describe Gerry’s fun game called “Loops and Lyrics” that he showed during the competition.
