sup, I'm new to all this and i plan on getting my shit around christmas time. is it possible to get a setup so that i can scratch shit off my laptop and rthen record in to my laptop. i'm all about digital and i gotta keep the pri ce for the tables and everything to around 350. what would you recomend getting?
If you are looking to scratch on regular turntables and simply want to record it via laptop, you can do a few setups:
1. Tascam TT-M1: The TT-M1 hooks up to any TASCAM CDX series DJ CD player (CD-X1500, CD-X1700) that supports TTM1 and retrofits onto the edge of just about any standard DJ turntable. The highly compact but durable TT-M1 requires no additional special audio hook-ups, no computer, and no special vinyl records but it DOES require that you purchase the Tascam DJ CD Player. It allows you to scratch MP3 and the like.
2. Alcatech's DIgiScratch is probably the BEST setup to get for what you would like to do. I demo'd this at the MobileBeat DJ Show in Vegas. It starts at $350 but it gives you everything you would need.
