Digital Music continues to climb as a preferred music medium. Fatboy Slim and Darren Emerson have jumped onboard by launching a new online music store which you can download tracks. Their website,
trax2burn.com is "an independent MP3 Distribution service, set up to enable record labels to distribute digital music via the internet".
After visiting the website
trax2burn.com, I was surprised. First thing that grabbed my attention was that the entire website is built in Flash. No HTML here peepz. This can be good and really bad. Good is that Flash prevents people from stealing or scraping the site for data or images/links. It can also make a website extremely cool only limited by its appearance. Some of the bad points, checkout and logging in does not appear to be secured. Tons of typos on their pages (Ex: CONTACT page).
Aside from that, they have the right idea. Putting together a nice catalog that includes Fatboy Slim's label Southern Fried and Emerson's Underwater label. Promos, remixes, and special releases will only be accessible to DJ's with passcodes.
So if you are tired of lugging around crates of vinyl or CDs, and you have MP3 capabilities, check it out. The Digital revolution is whoopin ass.
