On Tuesday, Aug 8th, Logitech announced its new product, the Wireless DJ Music System. This devices streams music from a PC to a home stereo or powered-speaker system. The $249.99 Wireless DJ Music System, which will become available in late September, is designed to use your PC's own playback software such as iTunes, MusicMatch, Windows Media Player, Rhapsody, or Yahoo Music Unlimited; thus making it compatible with any audio format, including MP3, iTunes AAC, WMA, Internet radio, and podcasts. The Logitech Wireless DJ broadcasts music from a wireless transmitter that plugs into your PC's USB port. The audio is sent to a small receiver that can be placed up to 150-300 feet away and plugged into any stereo system with a RCA Input or to powered multimedia speakers using a 3.5mm minijack output. The receiver also doubles as a charger for the wireless remote control. Logitech says that the remote can offer up to one week of battery life under normal usage.

Unlike other competitors, Logitech's Music Anywhere wireless technology works throughout the home so you don't need a wireless network. This prevents saturation on your wireless network but is especially helpful for DJs who are doing gigs where Wireless Networks are not available.

The remote features a blue-backlit liquid-crystal display and mechanical scroll wheel, as well as an active playlist feature, called the DJ List, which allows people to add songs or albums to the queue without stopping the music. This is a great feature if you are making your rounds, socializing with party-goers or with guest tables at receptions; allowing your guests to make their requests.
