from Onkyo
Price: Too low to display

Customer Review: Rating
After reading reviews and talking with sales reps, I decided on the Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver instead of the Yamaha. I am happy with my purchase as the Onkyo produces great sound and video and has many extras. However, the Onkyo has developed a loud and noticeable hummm. (I've had it about 2 months)... more info

from Denon Electronics USA LLC
Price: $364.99

Customer Review: Rating
I was excited about being able to switch sources and utilize the one cord interface between the projector and receiver and this receiver does a great job of switching sources and scaling of lower quality component signals to upgrade and transmit over HDMI. Setting it up is a little troublesome,... more info

I was planning on getting panasonic or sony for my PS3 to fully benefit from blu-ray, but a friend at work told me about their onkyo, so I checked on amazon and was about to buy, but then it sold out, so I found this bad boy instead, and had to get it, 400 bucks off can't beat that! When comparing to a pioneer vx27thx it does not have the sound quality you I would have expected for hdmi connections and 7.1 sound. The clarity was just not there even with a blue ray player. It did not have the crispness or bass for quality sound reproduction even with all klipsch speakers it was... more info

5.Sony STRDG920 7.1-Channel Audio/Video Receiver
from Sony
Price: $357.03

Customer Review: Rating
Overall, it's a pretty good receiver. But the IR sensor is very weak. You must point directly at the receiver. Pointing the remote just a bit to the side of the receiver does nothing. I have several components on the same rack and they all get the IR signal except the Sony receiver.
It sounds... more info

6.Yamaha RX-397 100 Watt Natural Sound AM/FM Stereo Receiver
from Yamaha
Price: $249.95

Customer Review: Rating
I wanted an amplifier that would get the best sound out of my CD player. This relatively low power receiver has better specs and sound than some integrated amplifiers for hundreds of dollars more. Granted it doesn't have the bells and whistles of many other receivers, but if you want a stereo... more info

Can I tell you something? Don't even mess with a Linksys Media Center Extender. I had one and was terribly disappointed. Wireless N was awful. Since I read so many good things about this HP Media Smart Connect, I thought I'd give it a try. After hooking up my first one, it wasn't 48 hrs before I... more info
