1.SmartFrench Audio CDs Beginner Level
from SmartFrench
Price: $23.07

Customer Review: Rating
This is a unique and innovative way to learn how to listen to the spoken French just as it is used in real conversations. Most audio programs, you have someone reading a script in French. The sounds are quite different when someone is talking French compared to someone who is reading French. That is... more info

2.All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten: Uncommon Thoughts On Common Things
from Villard Books

Customer Review: Rating
Dozens of 2 and 3-page "chapters" add up to witty slants on an ample variety of life's ordinary "stuff"... subjects the average person might never have thought to look at in an atypical way. "Uncommon Thoughts on Common Things," the subhead rightly touts. Chicken-fried steak, death, the stars,... more info

3.Car Talk
from Dell

Customer Review: Rating
As much as I adore Click & Clack on the radio (I listen to them weekly on NPR), I can't believe how very boring this calendar is. A total waste of money and a bummer of a Christmas gift!

4.Ask Click and Clack: Answers from Car Talk
from Chronicle Books
Price: $16.95

Customer Review: Rating
If you like "Car Talk," you'll like this book. Ray and Tom dole out sound car advice with a helping of self-deprecating humor.
That's fun and interesting while it lasts, but it doesn't last nearly long enough. The book may have 200 pages, but only half of those actually contain words. The... more info

5.Parliament of Whores: A Lone Humorist Attempts to Explain the Entire U.S. Government
from Vintage

Customer Review: Rating
This book has nothing to do with 'Attempts to Explain the Entire U.S. Government'. It's all about a humbug journalist ranting and trying to prove that he's seen it all and knows it all while making very little sense.
While some small sections of the book does make sense, most of it's idiotic,... more info

6.Manifold Destiny: The One! The Only! Guide to Cooking on Your Car Engine!
from Simon & Schuster
Price: $11.90

Customer Review: Rating
The thought that someone would come up with the idea of cooking on a car engine is pretty strange. To think that a book could be written on this topic is stranger. To write such a book that's this intelligent and this much fun is bizarre. I laughed out loud repeatedly at the preambles to each of... more info

9.Car Talk: Doesn't Anyone Screen These Calls: Call About Animals and Cars
from Highbridge Audio

Customer Review: Rating
Brothers Tommy and Ray Magliozzi have a call-in show on National Public Radio called "Car Talk." The calls range from the serious to hilarious--but rely on the "Tappett Brothers" to make even the mundane call funny.
Check your local listings to see when "Car Talk" comes on. Tommy and Ray are... more info

10.What the Dogs Have Taught Me : And Other Amazing Things I've Learned
from Penguin (Non-Classics)

Customer Review: Rating
I read this after reading "Walking in Circles before Lying Down" by Markoe which is hysterical. Particularly if you are a dog person. In "What the Dogs have Taught Me" each chapter is a little story, which makes it a great bathroom book or something to pick up just before dozing off. Very funny.
