  This item is great! You don't even need a computer, you can record right to your USB drive. Effortless.
• Quick and easy recording to PC based media
  These devices are a quick and easy method to make reasonably high quality H.264 video recording in PC/MAC friendly format. They are exceptionally useful if you happen to have traditional removeable media based camcorders such as older tape based or mini-dvd recorders. They can record up to 4 hours at a time to thumb drives, which is a whole lot more convenient than changing mini-DVD's every hour during a lengthy performance or event.   I've downloaded and read the Pinnacle "manual".
  It says that the quality of the recording depends
  on the speed of the video stick. Fine, BUT they don't
  specify what should that min speed be for the Best quality?!
  Of course if they did, the next problem will be to find
  what is a speed of your memory stick...
  Amazon doesn't bother to specify these either. e.g:

• Does not work, do not buy
  I tried the unit and when I played the transferred movie on Quick Time, it was full of artifacts and the sound was way out of sync from video. Basically, unusable and unacceptable results. I tried all the tricks and tips in the manual and on their website, but no avail...
  Do not recommend. Do not buy!
