Editorial Review

In 2006, an angel-faced but tough forty-two-year-old former small-town mayor named Sarah Palin became a long-shop candidate for Alaska governor demanding a higher ethical standard in state government. The timing of her reform message and a widening scandal produced a tornado that reshaped the political landscape. Surprising everyone, Palin thumped by wide margins both a sitting governor in the Republican primary election and a former governor in the general election to become Alaska's first female chief executive and its youngest ever. Through the campaign, and early in Palin's first term, the energetic and attractive mother of five achieved near-heroine status in her state. At one point, the new governor's approval rating reached 90 percent, prompting the Fox News Network to describe her as "a politician with eye-popping integrity" and some national GOP leaders to tout her as a prototype of the "new Republican."

  • Goodbye Sarah! Rating
Fox news would give this book a good review, as it presents their darling little conservative housewife governor in a good light! Sarah Palin has become nothing but a mascot and a puppet to the conservative party, complete with quaint little catch phrases. I don't know how anyone would be interested enough in this woman to write a book about her. I tried to donate the book, but no one wanted it, so I used my copy to line my rat cage.

This review is offered to inform potential readers about the merits of this book, based on my own opinion, having completed the book last week. In brief, the book is written in a simple style, and provides a history of the genesis and development of Sarah Palin, the person, the woman, and eventually, the candidate. It is profoundly clear that Sarah is endowed with great intellect, talent, and leadership capacity. I am quite certain many will relate to this great AMERICAN story. For those who choose to... more info
  • Palin is Truly an Amazing Person! Rating
Sarah Palin's critics need to read this book. Governor Palin has accomplished so much in a short time. She is a reformer, a loving wife, caring mother, motivator, and provider. Her life would make an amazing movie. One chapter of her book rivals all 457 pages of Barack's "Dreams of My Father".
Author Kaylene Johnson does a great job of painting the real Palin upon the pages of this biography. Palin does not know the meaning of the word "can't", and that is evident in her political decisions. She truly... more info
  • Better Late Than Never Rating
Finally, all the real answers you would have expected the traditional media to provide, but somehow they seemed to miss the story during the campaign.
This biography captures the person behind the smear and petty attacks of both opponents and fellow Republican.
Refreshingly candidate, not your typical "instant-bio" book that seems to always surface around election time.
